Children Hospital Symptoms

Every time when I step into the Children Hospital, there are lot of thoughts flying around my head. Most of the times, you feel worry, afraid, anxious, helpless and tired. Trust me, if you can quietly observe every parent who walk into the hospital, they all share with these common "symptoms".

We had another experience in this morning. Eunice had her second eye operation since she was born. The eye operation is try to re-attach her eye muscles so that her brain can gain back the control of her eye ball movement. Although it is not to be considered as a big operation, but as a father, you never say that it is not a big deal to you.

After a six hours stay, Eunice was discharged from the hospital and allowed to go home. Even though she still feel pain and uncomfortable on her eyes, Flora and I are so thankful it is over and pray that she will have a speedy recovery.

Lovely Gifts from...

For the past couple months, Flora and I would like to get Eunice and Isaac some gifts which they were longing for a while. However, we had to carefully do our mathematics first before their dream could come true. Financially, it was very tight since they were not cheap.

Eunice and Isaac love the TV games so much, they always stand in front of those games stations and watch others how to play the games. So we would love to buy them one so that they can enjoy at home(even though I do not like kids always play games in front of the monitor but forget they can have lots of fun by playing other activities too).

Another gift we would love to give it to them is a piano. However, we cannot afford a brand new or expensive brand one. So we turned into looking for a second handed one with a reasonable price. Finally, we found one and its condition is good and the price is $800. Although, it is not a famous brand name nor super good in sound, but it is a lovely little one that we can afford.

So... how do we get all the money from? It was a good question, Flora and I thought for a while and also put these need in our prayers. Last Thursday when I was doing my devotional time, I heard a voice and told me," I will take care of this and you should not worry, just believe."

On Friday morning, our prayers were answered. Couple months ago, we invested some money on a stock and we set our desire selling price. The stock reached that price on Friday and it was sold. The amazing part is the money that we earned, is almost the cost of two gifts that we would like to get for Eunice and Isaac. Our hearts are full of thanksgiving and joy.

This is a most cheerful moment that I do not have a while since my work has been given me a tremendous stresses and pressures. So I would like to say thanks to You a million times.

Work

Since two weeks ago, I have been so tired and stressed. The workload has been doubled. It seems to me that whenever I catch up with something, other things will drop on my desk right away. I guess this may be part of my job description... "work never end".

Battle to fight....

When we are in "spiritual sleeping", we seem to forget that we are called to be a solider for Christ. We are only focus or concern our daily routine life and work.

It is not a sad story but it is a true story for all of us. We do not how to pray, we do not how to worship and we do not how to connect with each other. To make it even more a laughter, eventually we do not know how many books in our Old and New testaments.

Can we change these? YES, we can... as long as you are willing to take an initiate to make a move. It is not easy but it will be rewarding.

Stand up and be the Watchmen of the Lord and start to pray for the changes in your life, in your spouse, in your family, in your fellowship, in your church, in your city and in your nation. I believe that the whole world will be shaken when you start to pray.

So are you ready to fight...?

A story of geese

This is a story that you may hear it before, but it is a good one to read it again...

Next fall, when you see geese heading south for the winter, flying
along in "V" formation, you might consider what science has discovered
as to why they fly that way.

As each bird flaps its wings, it creates uplift for the bird immediately following. By flying in "V" formation, the whole flock adds at least 71 percent greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own.

In a church people who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going more quickly and easily because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.

When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to go it alone - and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird in front. If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in formation with those people who are headed in the same direction as we are.
When the lead goose gets tired, it rotates back in the formation and another goose takes its place and flies point.

No church community should have only a few people doing all the work.It is sensible to take turns doing demanding jobs, whether with people or with geese flying south.

Geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their
speed.

In a church we should continually encourage one another rather than
criticize and tear down.

Finally and this is most important - when a goose gets sick or is
wounded and falls out of formation, two other geese fall out with that
goose and follow it down to lend help and protection. They stay with
the fallen goose until it is able to fly or until it dies, and only
then do they launch out on their own, or with another formation to
catch up with their group.

In a church we should surround the sick and wounded with love and care
until they rebound and can in return do the same for others.

Rock or Jade

I always thanks God that I have chance to know them personally. Some people may think that they are just a whole bunch of "normal" people who do not have any sense of mission and may not able to carry the torch. Others may think that they are not a committed group or they are not mature enough to handle or solve any problem.

However, I do not agree how the world looks at them. I truly believe all of them are gifted people. Right now they seem to be "raw, rough" and do not look good at all. But one day when craftsman starts to work on them, they will become a group of shiny and beautiful jades. Their values are unpredictable. So we should not lose our faith n them and believing them will be shine one day. I pray for the craftsman will pick up his tools and start to work on them soon.

That's why, in Chinese we always say," 玉不琢,就不成器 "
